About 3 months ago the Dusty Co. family members became famous for a brief period of time. Well, as famous as you can get on the internet. Reddit, a social networking site, was holding a global meet up. Where each country/city would invite all or most of its redditors and they would then share their pictures and experiences on reddit. Many countries did this but none of them caught so much attention as ours did.

Hind came up with the idea, a few days before the meet up, and said “maybe we should hold a reddit meet up! and then post the pictures on reddit” So we called up all our redditor friends and after the meet up we gathered all up and I put my camera on the car and turned on the timer.

The picture you see below would then be seen by over 500,000 people the next morning.

It was just amazing, we were flabbergasted. The thread was the top post on reddit for the rest of the day, and for a brief period the top in the same month. With over 900 comments and almost 16,000 up votes! It was simply amazing to say the least.

For the most part, people were just dumbfounded by the fact that we were very much like them. They expected a different image of Arabs, maybe? Whatever it was, they were happy to see that we were very much the same. And for a brief moment we connected with so many people and we felt a certain sense of kinship.
