I recently shared a few songs from my top 10 songs on Twitter and got a lot of feedback and thought that this would make an interesting post. So without further adieu…
The data is an accumulation from 2009 so everything you’ll find here is based on my listening habits since then.
1. Fat Freddy’s Drop – Cay’s Crays
Number one comes as no surprise. Their first album is by far the most treasured thing on my iTunes and I am quite surprised the other songs are not among the top ten. If you haven’t heard this song or this band. Your life is about to get a lot better.
2. Mr. Little Jeans – Rescue Song (RAC Remix)
RAC are unbelievably amazing. They make good things, better. And they are just quite simply amazing. I have yet to hear one mix they have done that I didn’t fall in love with.
3. Florence + The Machine – Cosmic Love
The reason why this song has been played so many times on my iTunes is quite frankly obvious. The song is amazing! Very beautiful lyrics and the performance is brilliant.
4. Air – Cherry Blossom Girl
Air does not make music like other groups do … they make magic. Thats exactly what they do. Magic.
5. Feist – Past In Present
Feist is sexy, on so many levels. But this song is a triumph in music production and compositing. The song delivers multiple orgasmic levels of beautiful music.
6. Noir Désir – Le Vent Nous Portera
An old girlfriend gave me this song and it is one of the oldest songs in my library, not that I like her any more, my ex that is, its just this song is hauntingly beautiful. Also, the main singer killed his wife sometime after recording this song, so you know its good.
7. Alex Winston – Don’t Care About Anything
While this song might sound like an emo statement, it actually has a really cool background and a really catchy chorus. I unfortunately could not find the studio version on youtube, but I am sure you can find it.
8. Amy Winehouse – Best Friends
To this day, I have no idea what this song means. But it made me grow to love Amy even more. And I catch my self singing it whilst in the shower more than I’d care to remember. Quite infectious.
9. Turret Opera / Cara Mia – A Cappella
If you never played ‘Portal’ or ‘Portal 2′ then you’ll never understand why this song is one of the most beautiful songs ever made. This is a beautiful version song by fans. I’ll never understand how it is possible to have someone cutting onions right next to me everytime I play this song.
10. Gypsy & The Cat – Time To Wander
Gypsy and the cat had the best album of 2011. Yup that was a period. Nothing more to see here folks except the clean veneer sound of the 80′s. So much love its ridiculous.

This looks like a hipster girl’s PMS mix.
Actually this is the Super Party PMS mix … Next week, the original PMS mix.
