I am a huge fan of Panic software. They have continuously created amazing software. I own all of them. When Coda first came out I bought it and was one of my staple apps for creating Websites and, although its been a long time coming, Coda 2 is finally here!
If you plan to purchase it, make sure you do so soon because for the next few days it will be discounted. 50% for the first few days and 25% for the next days after.
Coda 2 is a beautiful application and triumph in application design. A must for any web design user. It is beautiful and elegant.
- The app has an unorthodox way of viewing open files that is greatly welcome
- Again, one of the cool features of the file manager.
- The split preview page is very convenient and works great, the interface is very easily editable
- The new tools bar is extremely useful and has is easily accessible
- The color picker was face lifted and it looks beautiful
- Clips is one of the creative features in Coda 2, there are 1000′s of clips online and you can make your own. Just drag and drop.
- The beautiful local/remote file manager
- When looking up functions you can easily right click anything and look it up instantly.
- One of the coolest editions to Coda 2 is the full fledged SQL editor .. and it works beautifully!
- Books are very useful when you need a refresher on how a function or specific tag works
- Coda has one of the best S3 support for AWS, not that many editors support it.
- There are many books available by default and you can add as many as you want later on from other sites
- Connecting to FTP is super easy and the file manager is top notch
- When creating a new page you have the option of choosing which type
- All your sites are saved as leaves in your sites section, its very practical and all sites are automatically saved to your iCloud account
- The new hints view is unbelievably useful, it can give you hints for any of the supported codes.

As a coda 1 fan, I really hate panic now because what they are doing with coda 2. It’s completely useless.
I recently migrated everything I have to Sublime, and I have zero regrets. But I do miss some of the functionality of coda 2.
