While leaving Kuwait I witnessed something in the airport, that I have never seen before. Pure and utter chaos, pandaemonium. The amount of people traveling was unbelievable. Also, certain folk decided to invite their whole family tree, and their neighbors, just so they can stand there and block entry ways and I guess say goodbye. But mostly to stand in your way while you push your trolly.
The lines at the check in were so long, there were no lines. Just random people scattered around. I am telling you it was crazy. There were people near the exit door waiting for their turn just to enter the queueing area. They were queueing, to queue. The entrance to the check-in area had to be closed because of what happened, which made the situation far worse. People were standing in line just to get in all the way to Debenhams. This was the Check-In area.
The lines to pass security and passport stamping were so bad, they stretched all the way to Caribou and Panasonic (yes seriously). If you are Kuwaiti, please note that the First/Business/Staff security queue is more lenient and will let you pass through, but only if you are Kuwaiti.
So, if you are traveling this weekend. God help you. God help us all.
Also, be weary of bearded men in knock off designer clothes, as they push through their bags, their fully burka’d wife/s and 18 kids and Nubian Mary. These people do not, will not, respect lines or you and are instinctually in survival mode.
Arrive early, very early. See when your check-in time is and be there immediately if you have baggage.
Also, I AM IN NEW YORK BETCHES. More on that later.
