I did my fair share of US traveling this summer, but yurting was one of my highlights. If there is one thing that California has, its an eff load of outdoorsy things to do. Big Sur, situated right on the coastline, is amongst them.
We went to hiking to check out the redwoods, explored vista points in search of sea otters, and scrambled to find a meal before the area shut down, returning to our yurts before sunset every night for a pre bedtime snuggle.
What is a yurt you ask?
THIS IS A YURT. AND IT IS AWESOME. For those who cannot comprehend the picture above it’s a round, semi-permanent tent, with a skylight. Basically you have all the nature access of a tent with a all the comforts of a cabin. Best of both worlds if you ask me (besides the midnight pitch black trips to the outdoor communal bathroom).
If you are interested in yurting yourself check out Treebones in Big Sur by clicking here. I would also highly recommend going to the post ranch in for lunch if you are in the area, absolutely divine!
