I dont like ramen. I hate it. I use to have it when I was desperate and poor as a student. Also, I never had any good ramen, ever. Even in the fanciest of places I’ve been to, none could ever do anything worth sniffing, let alone eating. I really hated the stuff. Then came Atch-kotch.
Atch-kotch is the most delicious thing you’ll ever have. Close your eyes, wiggle your finger and point at a random thing in the menu, It could even be their famous typographic logo, and I assure you will have the best meal.
Their ramen is perfect. Perfect. Its not good, its not great. IT IS PERFECT. You can tell them you want clear broth, or soy, or beef or any kind of broth they have and it will be amazing. You have the Saud promise.
My favorite? is the Beef combination. I order the clear broth ramen and it comes with a small plate of beef and rice. The beef is tender and cooked perfectly, but the sauce. OH MY GOD THE SAUCE. The sticky sauce creates the perfect friend for the rice. You are then given this crazy combination, where you are not sure what to do .. sip and eat on the most delicious ramen you ever had or eat the most amazing beef and rice combination.
I go to launch there at least twice a week for lunch, since its close to me, and it gets PACKED during lunch time. Also, the place is family run and there is only one server (the daughter, I think) and she speaks barely any english, only enough to make your delicious ramen order.
If you are ever in LA .. YOU HAVE TO GO TO ATCHE-KOTCH. It is not optional. It is like going to Paris and not seeing the Eiffel tower. SERIOUSLY.
